Start your day on beautiful Tomales Bay. This is the perfect
time frame: late enough so you can stop at your favorite bakery on
your way to the water and early enough to get back to the beach so
you can still enjoy your share of the bay's famous oysters. You
will meet your guide at the Nick's Cove boat launch to enjoy a
paddle across the 2-mile wide bay into White Gulch, an area
frequently visited by the native Tule Elk. On this trip you are
sure to rest and enjoy the view of Hog Island, a cormorant nesting
area and official seal haul out zone. During this paddle you are
likely to encounter bat rays, leopard sharks, pelicans, egrets,
harbor seals, Great Blue Herons, moon jellies, river otters, sea
stars and many other marine creatures. This is a great opportunity
to enjoy the Point Reyes National Seashore and its unique ecosystem
from the the heart of it all, Tomales Bay.
