Buy size larger for wide calf

I am a plus size woman who wears size 8.5 Woman’s shoes. I bought a men’s 9 because the zipper would not zip around my calf in the men’s 8. So they were a bit large but still kept my feet warm. 5mm is plenty thick for kayaking booties. The quality is great. Thick soles are nice for walking from car down to water or on boat ramp.
