An alternative to oarlocks,  the Thole Pin is a simple way to keep your oars at the same angle and distance all the time. No shipping your oars. No feathering your blades.

Clavey Thole Pins are the best available. Made from hardened steel with a stainless steel sleeve - the top ball is made from a UV and impact-resistant thermo plastic and can be screwed off for replacement or when removing the oars.

Suggestions

When using a Pin and Clip oar system the oar has a U shaped clip clamped onto it (see oar accessories) that fits onto a Thole Pin thus holding the oar feathered and positioned at all times. When using a Pin and Clip system we highly recommend a pair of Oar Stirrups to help keep the oars in the boat when they have popped off the Thole Pin.
