The Aire 156R Self-Bailing Whitewater Raft is the raft that does it all. This is our favorite size. Big enough for the the Grand Canyon but small enough for the Illinois, this is the boat you can do almost everything with. Throw the thwarts in and you've got a river bus ready to roll. Drop the frame in and there's not too much you can't carry for a small family. The cooler, the drybox, the drop bag, the table - this is the boat where you've got plenty of room for everything and don't feel like you need a crow bar to get it in there. Can be upgraded to the Sealed Floor Pocket (see below) for an additional $620.00.

All Aire rafts are sold with the floor uninstalled. When you receive your new raft it will be necessary to lace in your floor. The whole process takes about an hour or two.
Features
- Outer PVC Shell – Our PVC material is manufactured under tension for added tear strength, durability and dimensional stability. The PVC fabric wraps 100% of the boat to protect the air holding layer.
- AIREcell System – The air holding layer is a thermo-welded bladder that is protected by the shell, easy to access and provides superior air retention.
- Welded Seams – All our seams are thermo or radio frequency welded, we do not use any glue. This creates stronger, more consistent seams that do not fail over time.
- Continuous Curve Design – This design eliminates the seams on the bottom of boats and improves hydro-dynamics in the bow and stern. This translates into faster, rugged, more capable rafts, catarafts and kayaks.
- Lace-in Floor – This floor system bails an entire boat full of water in just a couple of seconds.
- Strap in Thwarts – Each thwart straps into the floor lacing so they can be moved anywhere in the raft and taken out when needed for gear or extra space.
- Zippers – Full length zippers are used to access the AIREcells. Our zippers are rated at 10 times the force exerted by the recommended inflation pressure.
- Valves – Leafield C7, one way, reliable marine valves with protective caps designed for years of continuous use.

Floor Options
Keeping it simple it goes like this…The Regular floor comes standard and is made by sewing a zipper onto the top and bottom of the floor and inserting a AIREcell. When on the river the Regular Floor will allow water to enter the floor through drain holes in the bottom layer of fabric. This extra ballast helps the boat "stick" to the river stay upright in big water. The downside is a less maneuverable boat and the fact that you need to rinse out the floor after a silty trip. The Sealed Floor Pocket is different in that the top and bottom of the floor are welded together and the AIREcell is inserted through waterproof zippers. This makes for a watertight floor that performs more like a traditional I-Beam floor. Boats with a Sealed Floor Pocket are lighter and more responsive on the river and there is no need to rinse the floor out.
