Bioluminescence is a natural phenomena caused by millions of harmless tiny critters (microscopic dinoflagellates) that give off a light similar to fireflies in the water. We schedule this tour to coincide with a near moonless night, and we paddle around the bay exploring this awesome sight!
With COVID-19 safety standards in mind, we've made a variety of modifications to our operating plans which will be adhered to if you book a class or tour. Please read more detailed COVID-19 Safety Standards located below and/or in separate tab.
- Available on select Saturday evenings listed above.
- Total group size is limited to 10 guests.
- Please note that we use two person/tandem kayaks exclusively, and guests that share a boat must be from the same household. Therefore, you may only book 2 spaces at a time.
- Sorry no single reservations will be taken.
- Our tandem kayaks are comfortable and very stable. Total weight capacity for each tandem kayak is 600 lbs. You must be able to fit in the cockpit that is 35" x 17". Please contact us if you have any concerns about being able to fit in our kayaks.
- Minimum age is 13 years old and weighing at least 100 lbs for our bioluminescence kayak tours. Our staff reserves the right to refuse participation to clients that do not meet this criteria. Refunds are not issued in this case.
- Face Masks - All staff and customers are required to bring and wear appropriate face masks that covers both their nose and mouth while interacting with each other. You will not need to wear the mask while you are paddling.
- You will be outfitted with a life jacket, waterproof splash jacket, a watertight sprayskirt (keeps water out of the kayak) and paddle. Gear cannot be shared during the tour.
- We do not allow paddlers to bring their own boats.
- After making your reservation, you'll receive an email confirming your reservation. Kayak tour details will be sent prior to your tour date. You can also access tour details in the links below.
- Tickets are not used for our tours. You will not be mailed any tickets nor do you need to pick them up at our store.

You may only purchase this tour in sets of 2. Two people per one Tandem Kayak. People must be from the same household per tandem kayak.

Reservation/Cancellation Policy
- Sorry, there are no refunds or credits for no shows, late arrivals or cancellations made within 2 weeks of the tour or class. If you cannot participate we encourage you to find a friend or family member within your COVID-19 Bubble to take your place, and please advise us of this change.
- You will be asked to sign an assumption of risk and liability release prior to participating in any class or tour. This is a requirement for our insurance carrier; participants may not join a class or tour without a signed form.
- We reserve the right to cancel or curtail a trip due to weather conditions or other conditions out of our control. In this case, we do our best to provide you with another suitable date, issue a credit or refund.
- Note: Pre-registration is required for all classes/tours. We can take a reservation up to 4:00 PM the day before the class/tour if space is available. Unfortunately, we usually cannot accommodate reservations the morning of the class/tour. If you would like to make a reservation the day before the class/tour after 4pm please call us at 707-766-8070 to check if space is available.
COVID-19 Safety Standards
With COVID-19 safety standards in mind, we've made a variety of modifications to our operating plans which will be adhered to if you book a class or tour, or if you've already made a reservation. They are as follows:
• All staff and customers are required to bring and wear appropriate face masks that covers both their nose and mouthwhile interacting with each other. You will not need to wear the mask while you are paddling.
• Handwashing or hand sanitizer stations will be available for staff and customers.
• Everyone must strictly practice social distancing and remain 6 feet apart.
• Guides/Instructors will have readily available hand sanitizer, cleaning products and spare face masks during every class and tour.
• Gear issued to a class/tour customer will only be used by that customer, and will not be shared during a class or tour.
• Customers will provide their own water bottles, sunscreen, insect repellent, personal food etc.
• Customers will not be allowed to participate if they exhibit any symptoms associated with the COVID-19 Virus: (mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough and difficulty breathing, or other symptoms identified by the CDC); or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.
Staff
Our staff of guides are experienced tour leaders and paddlers. They also have training in First Aid/CPR, certifications from the ACA, BCU and other paddling-related organizations and love to share the joys of touring our local waterways in a kayak and helping you become a better paddler.
